Welcome to Village Green Preschool, located in beautiful downtown Sterling, Massachusetts!

Village Green Preschool was founded in 1980 by Linda Greene and Carol Hoffman as a non-profit outreach program of the First Church in Sterling Center. After the leadership of Linda Greene for 40 years, Karen Ormsbee took over as director in 2020. In all these years, VGP has been independently run as a nonsectarian preschool option for Sterling and surrounding towns. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Village Green’s Parent Advisory Board helps to determine school policy, make personnel decisions, and oversees facilities maintenance.

The preschool offers a developmentally based early childhood program for three-, four- and five-year-old children.  Village Green offers both half-day and full-day programs, available for 2, 3 or 5 days a week. Our school year runs from September to May, with enrollment for the fall starting in January, following our annual Open House.
